I Am Second

I don't really feel like writing right now, and I haven't had time to do much crafting lately, so I thought I'd share this. I love the website "I am second", but this woman is definitely my favorite. She is precious, and I hope her story touches you as much as it does me. Seconds - I Am Second

1. Learn to bake an apple pie from scratch.
2. Learn to knit.
3. Do literacy tutoring.
4. Run a marathon.
5. Put $3000-$4000 into savings (just mine, not including Nick's contribution)
6. Travel at least once out of the US.
7. Go skydiving.
8. Buy a sewing machine.
9. Learn to use a sewing machine.
10. Read the Bible all the way through.

21. Read CS Lewis' Abolition of Man, Weight of Glory, Problem with Pain, and finish Mere Christianity. (1/4) (finished Mere Christianity,working on Problem of Pain)
22. Go to an NBA game with Nick.
23. Go to a wine tasting.
24. Buy new bedroom furniture.
25. Buy a new coffee table.
26. Eat vegetarian for 2 weeks.
27. Go 40 days without buying any material thing for myself that I don't need (food excluded).
28. Get a fun wine rack, like the Wrought Stuff company @ St. James art show.
29. Pay off student loan.
30. Make a photobook of our honeymoon on shutterfly or snapfish.
31. Get social security card and passport finally in my married name.(1 of 2)
32. Confront certain people that need confrontation.
33. Try at least 2 NEW recipes a month. 37. Take ballroom or salsa lessons with N.

39. Get 1 massage and 1 pedicure a year (5/6)
40. Relearn to freestyle swim good enough so that I enjoy it and do it on a regular basis.
41. Buy a home :)
42. Buy a map & color code with pins.
43. Give blood at Red Cross at least once a year :/ (0/3)
44. Practice my calligraphy & use it on a normal basis.
45. Learn to check the oil in my car :/
46. Start each day for a month with 15 minutes of quiet time. (I keep missing a day and restarting!)
47. Go paintballing.
48. Volunteer w/Little Victories at least once every 2 months. (3/17)
49. Go for 2 straight weeks being on time or early for everything!
50. Write 5 letters to people I admire. (1/5) (Jana Werson's parents)
51. Buy a well for World Vision.
52. Read 10 classics I've never read before (Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Diary of Ann Frank, Pride & Prejudice, Taming of the Shrew, Paradise Lost) (3/10)(Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, Jane Eyre)
53. Go to the Greenbrier, at least for lunch :)
54. Eat at least 1 vegetable or fruit a day for a month, excluding potatoes (Fruit products such as jelly, juice, etc. do not count!)
55. Write my World Vision kids every 3 months. Oswaldo (3/11), Christine (2/11) *And try to get Nick to write his!
56. Have Christmas cards finished by December 1.
57. Make sushi.
58. Give away at least 10 pieces of wardrobe from winter, 10 from summer. (10/10-W; 10/10-S)
59. Pull at least 2 good pranks. (1/2)(Jon Hess)
60. Go rock climbing and rapelling again.
61. Host a family dinner at least every 2 months. (6/16)
62. Do something with Poppi at least 8 times a year- initiated by me. (13/22)
63. COMPLETELY clean out my car, inside and out.
64. Host a friend night at least 4 times a year.
65. See "Wicked" on Broadway.
66. Swim with dolphins!!!

68. Help build a house with Habitat.
69. Give 10 "just because" gifts. (6/10)
70. Watch 20 movies nominated the Oscar for Best Picture or Best Actor/Actress that I've never seen. 71. Organize our nightstand and financial papers.
72. Get to 120-125.
73. Go to at least 1 Auburn football game. {Home game vs. UGA Nov. 2010}
74. Go back and visit Covenant with N and run the trails on Lookout Mountain.
75. Do something special for Mom and Dad's 35 anniversary June 8th.
76. Find 10 new singers or groups I like and buy their CD. (7/10) (Parachute, David Crowder Band, Needtobreathe, C.B. Rae, Paolo Nutini, Matthew Perryman Jones, Ray Lamontagne- some of these singers I knew OF, but hadn't really paid attention to til now)
77. Do something about my sad retirement :/
78. Have a reunion with Bex.
79. Have at least a small understanding of the stock market, and invest a little money to play with.
80. Visit 6 state or national parks that I've never been to. (0/6)
81. Go an entire day saying nothing negative- NOTHING!
82. Host a rollerskating party :)
83. Retype and update our address list from our wedding invitation list.
84. Buy at least 3 things from etsy.com. (3/3)
85. Go white water rafting again at least once.
86. Be able to do 1 REAL pull-up, without John accusing me of cheating :) (this one may actually take a lot of training!)
87. Leave 5 encouraging notes in random places for strangers.
88. Milk a cow!!
89. Do a sub-4 hour marathon, or a 1:45 half marathon *(unless a baby comes along and pushes this back to a later date.)
90. Do a cheek swab test for bone marrow.
91. Get a new car! (Not brand new, but newer than the '01 Alero)
92. Go parasailing.
93. Start writing my journal to our future children.
94. Secret surprise gift for Nick :)
95. Find my green thumb!
96. Be able to run a 5k in at least the low 21's (or sub 21!)
97. Get my wedding dress cleaned... even though it's 3 years later.
98. Visit Stephy at Elon.
99. Get a kindle! :)
100. Go to Sea World!
